Confronting Fear

Confronting Fear

Probably one of the most common topic we all face when we choose to grow out of our shell and into the potentials that we ever so desire.

Some fear trust, some fear emotions. Some others will fear trying, I fear not living. Death. I understand as a finite destination that all of us will face one day, I fear for the consequences that come with death. Not being able to experience the many struggles and joy that comes of a life fully realised is an overwhelming concept. We always fear what we don't know, I don't know if I can come to full realisation of my own potential.

Question now is, how do we confront the fear and how do we move forward with the fear. Well, we shake hands with it.

Ego is fragile as we know our own worst dark secrets. So in term, we are the one dishing the worst kind of criticism to ourselves. We should aim to not coddle ourselves but to be able to comfort ourselves regularly by having stabilities in our lives.

Self care should be as natural as waking up everyday and as urgent as needing to do a no. 2. We should always aim to do better then the previous time, everytime.

Challenges however arise quite frequently due to various stressors in our life, like hearing something nasty from a person you trust, failing to complete a task, failed assignments and general disappointment of life makes it harder want to maintenance self care.

As of recent discoveries, this little technique works for me, I have chosen to redo Shadow Work, which is something I used to learn back when I was really into spirituality and then it was expanded further when I leant it from different psychology resources.

Shadow Work is an advance technique where you confront all your inner darkness like hypersensitivity, narcissism and mood swings. When you are doing shadow work, you want to be able to clearly identify them and learn how to use it to aid your general self care. Afterall, your darkness is just you that you wish was better, so instead of running away from it, use it to advance your general well being.

Reason why Shadow Work is an advance technique is due to the nature of your inner darkness, like a shadow, you wont be able to notice it until someone or something had led you towards that discovery. This make shadow work ultra tricky to do and even to be recommended in general as the question is,"how do you control something when you barely notice it is there?". Well fellow Muse, that is where I say you need to work on your basics in term of know who you are, what you like and don't like, why you do what you do and general mindfulness with situational awareness are important towards greater self discoveries.

In closing, you can not perform the best when you do not give yourself the best possible start to the day. This blog is hopefully useful for you, none of this is official recommendations but more like my own experience and you can use it as an anecdote.

Til next time Muse,

Signing out, Murse.
